Beach umbrellas are replaced by rain umbrellas.
Jumpers replace t-shirts.
Instead of the parks and beaches being packed with people, most have retreated indoors.
The sunshine state that is Queensland has failed to live up to its name for years now.
We were the outdoors state. BBQs, backyard cricket, picnics at the beach.
Now, it looks more like the picture above. Dreary and wet.
Before the rain that brought the 2011 floods we took our sunshine and warm weather for granted. These days we hope that we don’t have to be indoors when the sun comes out.
Being an outdoorsy person now requires careful reviews of the weather.
Queensland, you’ve changed.
