The countdown is on – We will soon be short-term cruisers

We are now on the two weeks to go mark until we are actually in Greece and making our way to our catamaran, which will be our home for three months.

How are the preparations you ask? Well, the answer really is: not so good.

Ryan is in China for work until next weekend, and has been there for a week already. I’m supposed to be packing up the house and moving, but at the same time trying not to pack anything that we might need to take to Greece. So far, there has been a lot of staring at stuff and going to sleep instead.

On top of that, I’d like to catch up with friends before we go. So I’ve been trying to fit that in, as well as fighting off the flu. With the instant cold (cold for Brisbane) weather has come a deluge of fluey germs!!!!

Anyway, here are some of the things we need (want) to take with us other than clothes and toiletries:
Kite
Kiteboard
Kite lines
Kite harness
Dive fins
Snorkels and masks
Spearguns (as if there will be anything to spear)
Some weights on weight belts
Dive knives
Laptop
GoPro x2
Camera
Water and shock proof camera
Back up hard drive
Chargers for each
Guitar (apparently Ryan wants to take his)

After wasting space on wetsuits on our trip to Samoa, I’m not sure we will take them with us. That is still a decision yet to be made.

I am trying to figure out how to get all of that stuff there. It’s fine once the bags are checked in with the airline. Getting them around before and after is a different story. I’ll take a photo once we get all of our stuff packed to show the bulk baggage!

This makes me feel totally guilty, when I have a friend who packed 7KG for a two year trip. We’ve got the ratio completely backwards.

Oh but how I can’t wait to be there!!!!!!
